The three-man band Fool in the Box consist of Apollonas Avatangelos (guitar / vocals), Agis Vougas (bass), and Giorgos Rados (drums), who have had a presence in Greece’s English language rock circuit since 2006.
Their sound is strongly influenced by the music scene of the 90s, combining elaborate dark vocals and loud guitar riffs with melodic and atmospheric surges.
They describe themselves as part of a generation that grew up with Nirvana and Soundgarden, but that also worship the likes of Tool and The Mars Volta.
Fool In The Box manage to successfully combine these rock roots, creating their own explosive mixture, with lyrics that were inspired by and reflect the urban everyday life and the challenges faced within human relationships.
The band recently contributed the track “Decently Behaved” to Spinalonga records’ compilation “In the junkyard Vol.3”, while through the Band Complete project their first official EP entitled Faces is now available digitally. The EP consists of five new songs with lyrics by Apollonas Avatangelos and music by Fool in the Box.

Τo τριμελές συγκρότημα, Fool In The Box, αποτελείται από τον Απόλλωνα Αβατάγγελο (κιθάρα/φωνητικά), τον Άγη Βουγά (μπάσο), και τον Γιώργο Ράδο (τύμπανα), οι οποίοι από το 2006 έως και σήμερα δίνουν δυναμικά το παρόν στην εγχώρια αγγλόφωνη ροκ σκηνή.
Ο ήχος τους είναι έντονα επηρεασμένος από τη μουσική σκηνή της δεκαετίας του ’90, που συνδυάζεται περίτεχνα με σκοτεινά φωνητικά, δυνατά κιθαριστικά riffs, αλλά και μελωδικές και ατμοσφαιρικές εξάρσεις. Όπως αναφέρουν και οι ίδιοι, ανήκουν στη γενιά που μεγάλωσε με Nirvana και Soundgarden, αλλά παράλληλα λατρεύουν τους Tool και τους Mars Volta. Οι Fool In The Box καταφέρνουν να συνδυάσουν όλες αυτές τις rock καταβολές τους με επιτυχία, δημιουργώντας το δικό τους εκρηκτικό μίγμα. Η ιδιαιτερότητα του ήχου τους ενισχύεται από τους στίχους των κομματιών, που εμπνέονται και αντικατοπτρίζουν την αστική καθημερινότητα και τις προκλήσεις που αντιμετωπίζουν οι ανθρώπινες σχέσεις.
Δισκογραφικά, έχουν συμμετάσχει με το “Decently Behaved” στη συλλογή της Spinalonga records “In the junkyard Vol.3”, ενώ μέσα από το Band Complete project κυκλοφορούν ψηφιακά το πρώτο επίσημο EP τους με τίτλο Faces. Το EP αποτελείται από πέντε νέα κομμάτια σε στίχους του Απόλλωνα Αβατάγγελου και μουσική των Fool In The Box.
